Usage
- Section Hair: Using a tail comb, take a small, clean section of the client’s natural hair where you intend to apply the extension. The section should be roughly the same density as the I-tip extension strand.
- Thread Natural Hair: Using a looping needle tool, hook the natural hair section and thread it through the flared opening of the micro tube, pulling it all the way through until the tube rests at the scalp.
- Insert Extension: Take an I-tip extension strand. Insert the I-tip (stick-tip) directly into the same flared opening of the micro tube, alongside the natural hair. Ensure both the natural hair and the extension tip are fully inside the tube.
- Position Tube: Slide the micro tube up towards the scalp, leaving about 0.5-1 cm of space from the root to allow for natural hair movement and growth.
- Secure with Pliers: Using specialized pliers, firmly press and crimp the micro tube flat (or circular, depending on the desired bond shape and plier type) to secure both the natural hair and the extension in place. Ensure the bond is tight but not overly clamped to avoid damage. The flared opening will help the bond sit smoothly.
- Style & Trim: Once all extensions are applied, style the hair as desired. Trim any excess natural hair if it extends beyond the bond.
- Removal: To remove, use micro ring pliers to gently un-crimp the tube. Slide the extension and tube down and off the natural hair.
Pro Tip: Always choose the correct micro tube size for the I-tip extension and natural hair thickness to ensure a secure yet comfortable bond. The flared opening significantly simplifies the threading process, especially for beginners.
